I have a highway bar and pegs on my bike. I had also thought about forward controls at one point, but really wasn't a value for the money at least for my needs. I am not tall so it really wasn't necessary for me to create that additional leg room with the controls. So I opted with a highway bar and it's great. Allows me to stretch out on long trips. I highly recommend, especially when you compare the prices of $80 to $400. Good luck.
